After graduating the England Development Pathway and representing England U16s,18s,21s and GB U21s. James got his first international call up against Spain in the FIH Pro League in February 2022. James was called up to the GB training squads in February 2022.
In December 2022, James was picked for the GB Squad playing in Argentina, where he made his debut against the Netherlands.
