FIH Pro League Preview: GB Women look to put better performance; men aim to consolidate lead at top

After an enthralling start, the first FIH Pro League London mini tournament will resume with GB women taking on China and Belgium and GB men squaring off against India and Belgium in reverse fixtures taking place from 2 - 4 June 2023 at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.

Having registered a win (1-0 against China) and a loss (2-3 against Belgium), the women's team will look to better their performance in the second leg matches on 2 and 4 June respectively.

Speaking ahead of the match, Head Coach, David Ralph stated, "It was an up and down performance last weekend, we played better in the second game compared to the first game against China. It will be a tricky game against China, and then Belgium is always a difficult game, so we need tight up our defence and ultimately look to score more goals."

The men's team, on the other hand, are off to a flying start as they beat India 4-2 and Belgium 3-1 in their first set of matches. They will look to keep the winning momentum going and consolidate their lead on top of the points table in the reverse fixtures on 3 and 4 June respectively.

Head Coach Paul Revington stated, "We are pleased with the fact that we won both the matches, winning games is important, gaining points is important, but there are few areas that we've worked on for the coming matches, so looking forward to it."
