Clubs invited to nominate players for the 2023 GB Hockey Elite Development Programme open trials

We are now seeking player nominations for the 2023 GB Hockey Elite Development Programme (GB EDP) for players who demonstrate the potential to progress to senior International level. 

The nomination process is open until Monday 31 October at 1700 hrs.

Coaches are asked to complete an online nomination form Nomination From which considers a broad profile of each player they are nominating across technical, tactical, mental, teamwork and physical qualities.

These qualities are aligned to the Complete Player Qualities which have been developed in consultation with numerous elite coaches and past and present players (female and male, including many of the Rio and Seoul Olympic Gold Medallists). They represent a consensus of ‘The Complete Player’ and what it will take to be a future Great British Hockey Squad member.  More detail can be found in the Talent System Framework here.

Current performance and future potential will both be considered. The details of these qualities and how to rate them is contained in the nominations form at the appropriate point.
