Alex Danson celebrates

The Rio 2016 Olympic games are now upon us, and we've got a complete guide to how to follow Great Britain's men's and women's hockey teams on TV.

Are our games on the telly?
Every one of our pool games is due to be shown on BBC network TV, as listed in their special Olympic edition of Radio Times, which is out now.

Saturday 13th Aug 10pm, GB Women vs USA, BBC Four

The only slight caveat with network coverage is, sometimes the BBC may switch between sports for a short time, but they will of course update viewers live on air.

What about online?
If you want to watch every minute of every match, the best way to do so is through BBC Sport online, BBC red button and the BBC Sport app. Every GB men's and women's hockey game will be shown there uninterrupted.

Who's commentating?
Simon Mason, Matt Chilton and Mel Clewlow are on duty for the BBC TV across all of our fixtures sharing their incredible hockey knowledge. Simon played in goal for GB at three Olympics, Mel lined up in two and Matt has covered every summer and winter games since 1992 so there's a real depth of hockey insight.

Can I watch other countries' hockey games?

Yes, selected Ireland games will be on BBC network, and lots more hockey will be online / red button. There are 24 live streams online and 8 on the red button so loads of sport to keep up with!

Anything else I need to know regarding TV?
Yes, for signal coverage reasons, some Freeview viewers won't get all 8 red button streams, so it's wise to double check ahead of time.

What about the radio?
